Changing relations between Russia and Great Britain through the prism of child dynastic marriages in the last quarter of the XIX century – the first quarter of the XX century

In the article, the authors aim to analyze the degree of influence of representatives of the Danish ruling house on the relations between the Russian Empire and great Britain through the conclusion of dynastic marriages. The authors conclude that in the last quarter of the XIX century – the first quarter of the XX century, after a long period of alienation between the two countries, an understanding is being established, which leads to the conclusion of the Anglo-Russian agreement, which is key in creating the Triple Entente. This Union of countries, which also includes France (at the time of the first decade of the twentieth century) was directed against Germany. For several centuries, both countries have chosen brides from the German ruling families or their closest relatives for the heirs to the throne, but this tradition is changing during the period under review. Note that this is happening at a time when European Affairs have an anti-German orientation in both British and Russian politics. The authors of the study conclude that these changes are related to the influence of the female factor in the ruling dynasties of the countries in question, namely, their anti-German sentiments.
