Vocal exercises in pronunciation correcting system in preschoolers with cleft lip and palate

Preschoolers with cleft lip and palate are a complex and heterogeneous group. Rehabilitation of children with clefts requires an integrated approach, as well as the use of specific methods and therapy techniques. The main goal of the rehabilitation of preschoolers with clefts is not only the surgical reconstruction the anatomical integrity of the articulation apparatus, but also the correction of the pronunciation disorders. The article presents the experience of using vocal methods in therapy with children with cleft lip and palate. The subject of the study is the content of vocal lessons for preschoolers with clefts, taking into account the structure of speech impairment. Vocal therapy included the following stages: the formation of phonatory respiration, articulation movements, correction of resonance disorders, vocal utterance, the development of phonemic awareness and the tempo-rhythmic side of speech. The dynamics of children's speech development after a comprehensive rehabilitation using vocal methods for one year is shown. Vocal lessons as a means of correcting the pronunciation of speech in preschoolers with cleft lip and palate can be carried out both in educational organizations and in public health institutions.
