Language identity of a technical student

This article aims to consider the influence of the linguistic personality of a technical university student on his/her study of a foreign language. In this work the direct relationship between the development of a linguistic personality and the concept of a linguistic world-image of the student is considered. The author proposes to supplement the approaches of the linguistic world-image of the student, by creating conditions for the formation and development of the communicative culture of the student’s linguistic personality. In addition, the article analyzes the composition of the technical university students and gives a classification of the various stages of mastering the educational material and approaches to a foreign language teaching. The article is intended for teachers of a foreign language in higher educational institutions in the preparation of qualified technical specialists, also in educational institutions of the transport industry, as well as for centers of advanced training of educators.
