Psychological and pedagogical support of contextual training of bachelors in pedagogical university

The article considers the problem of the formation of pedagogical professional identity of TEFL students. The author suggests the use of contextual technology for teaching English in order to transform students’ educational and cognitive activities into professional on the basis of semiotic, imitation, social pedagogical models. The author substantiates the psychological and pedagogical conditions for the implementation of contextual education, including the actualization of the students’ reflective and cognitive activities. A special attention is paid to the analysis of the peculiarities of the students taking themselves as a professional, teaching activities as a way of self-realization and adoption of the value system of pedagogical activity. The article proves that the theory and technology of contextual education, as well as certain methods of pedagogical, organizational and managerial impact on students, allow to transform the TEFL students’ educational activities into professional ones, with their gradual awareness of their pedagogical professional identity.
