The article discusses the main semantic groups of borrowed words of the Russian language. It was revealed that the most significant are semantic groups of nouns denoting computer and network concepts; notions of business and finance; sports; politicians. Each of these areas is of great importance for the speaker and is actively developing, so the appearance of new borrowed words in them is natural. The bulk of modern borrowing comes from the English language in connection with its active use in international communication. Since the replenishment of borrowings meets the needs of a native speaker, it is incorrect to talk about clogging the Russian language with borrowed words.

Keywords:vocabulary, borrowed vocabulary, the Russian language, semantics, semantic group.
