To the isomorphism of german modal verbs müssen and können

The article is devoted to the issue of mutual isomorphism (transmission of the same modal meaning of a statement by different verb forms) of the German modal verbs müssen and können, the main meanings of which are a debitive and potential modality. The article analyzes the contexts of using the modal verbs müssen and können and provides syntactic, lexical and grammatical and pragmatic markers of their systemic isomorphism in fiction discourse.
