The strategy of verbal scare-mongering in british media

This paper focuses on the strategy of scare-mongering in the British media through the use of hate speech. Particular attention is paid to the justification of the existence of a verbal expression of “the Russian threat” phenomenon. As a result of the study, one of the tactics that contribute to the active formation and scare-mongering of anti-Russian sentiments among modern British society was identified. The results can be used in further studies of the “hate speech” phenomenon and its verbal manipulative mechanisms.
