Questions of teaching the english language of business communication in nonlinguistic universities

the relevance of studying and teaching business English is determined by business development trends in the context of globalization. This article addresses the issues of teaching Business English in non-linguistic universities. The author analyzes the points of view of distinguished researchers on the concept of "English language for business communication." Special attention is drawn to the learners' motivation in the learning/teaching process and the development of their cross-cultural competence. Awareness of the intrinsic learner needs seems to be instrumental in the process of shaping a future professional as well as being the main motivating learning factor. The article considers the formation of intercultural competence as one of the most important components in the process of teaching and learning Business English. Finally, the article considers the methodology of teaching business English and the principles of selecting teaching materials.
