Goal. Description of the rating system in team sports. Theoretical justification of rating calculation using numerical methods. Material and methods. As an example, the results of the performance of national teams in football were used. Numerical methods of calculation were used to calculate systems of linear equations. High-level programming languages were used to automate the calculation process. Results. A rating system was developed and applied to determine the strength of teams. The resulting rating system can serve as a methodological basis for calculating the rating in all game sports. A system of linear equations providing a unique solution is presented. Mathematically justified formulas of rating calculation are given. Conclusion. The data obtained testify to the adequacy of the constructed model and the possibility of using the rating to assess the results of performances in team sports.
