Comparative analysis of affectionate addresses in modern Russian and Chinese

This article analyzes the structural and functional features of affectionate addresses in Russian and Chinese, which belong to different families of languages. Similarities and differences are found in the structures and functions of affectionate addresses in these two languages, which indicates lexical richness of Chinese and Russian and similar cognitive and thought pattern across cultures. It also reveals the difference between Chinese people and Russian people in speech acts and cultural identities.
