Development of bilingual english-russian lexicography: language for specific purposes of preservation and study of cultural heritage (conservation/ restoration)

The purpose of the article is to analyze and describe the prospects for the development of English-Russian lexicography in the framework of Language for Specific Purposes coverage in the field of conservation / restoration of cultural heritage monuments. Methods used: historical-descriptive method; contextual and functional analysis of words as integral units; methods of terminological and bilingual lexicography. The results of the study: the main aspects have been identified that emphasize the insufficiency of providing English-Russian accompaniment in the field of conservation /restoration of cultural heritage monuments (using examples of various fields); the necessity of systematic development (clarification, introduction of new terms, preservation of the lexical context during translation, etc.) of bilingual English-Russian lexicographic support for the conservation / restoration of cultural monuments on the basis of the formation of the terminological base of highly specialized branches of conservation /restoration activity is substantiated; The specificity of terminology in conservation /restoration for lexicographic fixation is revealed.
