Features of word formation of personal names in languages of various typologies (based on Russian, English and Avar languages)

Huseynova Mesedu Kaisovna  (Postgraduate student, Dagestan State University, Makhachkala)

The article discusses the features of the morphological word formation of simple personal names in different-structured English, Russian and Avar lan-guages. Each of the compared languages has its own name-forming suffixes, which indicate the origin of the carriers of these names from a certain genus, family. Common to the studied linguistic cultures is the existence of parallel forms of male and female personal names. The Avar anthroponymicon differs in that parallel names in it are formed from anthroponyms borrowed from the Arabic language. In the compared linguocultures there are indifferent gender names. In quantitative terms, there are significantly more gender-neutral names in the English language than in the Russian and Avar languages.
