What do we know about raising and educating children with disabilities?

The article presents the results of theoretical understanding of a number of social and psychological-pedagogical problems caused by the special needs of children with disabilities, and also suggests one of the practical ways to partially but effectively solve them. Results obtained at the end of the implementation of a special individual program for the development of children with various physical and mental disabilities in the «Center for continuing education for children with disabilities», Nizhniye Achaluki Republic of Ingushetia demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed mechanism of their socialization in modern society and allow us to recommend it for practical use in the educational process of such special institutions.
