Polysemy in the semantic field "Success" in English and Russianlanguages

The aim of the research is to compare and highlight the similar and distinctive characteristics of polysemy in the semantic field “Success” in English and Russian languages. The article discusses the concept of “polysemy”, types of polysemy, as well as ways of differentiating polysemy and homonymy. The scientific novelty of the research is to identify multilingual hidden polysemy in the course of a comparative study of vocabulary in two languages. As a result of the study, it was found more polysemantic lexical items. In the semantic field “Success” were found different types of polysemy, including hidden polysemy.
