One of the most interesting events in the history of the Great Patriotic War was the evacuation of personnel and equipment of pre-war maintained tank-building and cooperation industries located in the center and in the west of the USSR, with their subsequent reorganization in the eastern regions. This work aims to summarize the regional features of the formation of the production base of the PCTI (People's Commissariat of the Tank Industry of the USSR) in the Urals, clarifies role of region as the leading production and technological center of the leading Soviet tank building, in 1941–1942.
