"Environmental policy" of the Russian monarchs (from Catherine I to Paul I)

This article discusses the development of environmental protection and environmental activities of Russian monarchs in the XVIII century since the death of Peter I. Russian environmental legislation has a long tradition, Dating back to the period of Kievan Rus. The era of Palace coups and the reign of Catherine II ambiguously influenced the "environmental policy" in the country, thereby arousing particular interest in the study of this issue. The article presents legislative acts and orders that characterize the environmental and environmental activities of each monarch separately, allowing us to trace the general mood in Russian society.
