Linguocultural codes: the image of "Gras" in the German language

One of the components of a successful learning process is the understanding and use of knowledge related to the cultural specifics of a particular language. This information is hidden in phraseological units. They not only make speech more expressive, but also allow to learn the history of people, to understand the identity of their culture and life. It is especially relevant in our time, since in a globalized world, students are required to have a confident use of language. The study of culture codes of different nationalities is necessary in order to see how much in common and distinctive they have. This article examines the specific meanings of the linguistic unit «Gras», which acts as a component of the culture code. These meanings, on the one hand, give native speakers of the German language a certain outlook on the world, and on the other hand, they «impose» a similar worldview on speakers and learners of this language.
