Model and strategy of translating a short story

The article discusses the development of a model and a strategy of translating short stories. The material of the research is the stories of the German writer Wolfgang Borchert, which are translated by the authors of this article. Analyzing the models which exist in Russian and German translation studies, one may note, on one side, the presence of not only their advantages, but also disadvantages, on the other side, a tendency towards their integration. The proposed conceptual and interpretive model consists of 8 stages and is focused on a clearly formulated pragmatic goal of translation.
