Deictic and textual function of temporal deixis in the Russian language

The article is devoted to studying deictic and textual function of temporal deixis in the Russian language. The research aims at identifying peculiarities of functioning of temporal deixis in utterances. This study's scientific originality is systematically summarizing semantic and functional characteristics of temporal deixis in information transfer and text construction through examples. The result of this study showed that the deictic function of temporal deixis can be divided into three types, the functions of temporal adverbs in implementation of textual logical connection and reflection of narrative rhythm have been determined, the relationship between the time forms of verbs and time perspective of the narrator has been revealed.
