The article is devoted to the functioning of phraseological units with a somatic component “heart” (based on the material of the Azerbaijani and Georgian languages). The authors give examples of the functioning of phraseological units in oral discourse. The PU of the Azerbaijani and Georgian languages reflects the mentality, national characteristics, and the inner world of the people. The article contains phraseological units that characterize the character of people, as well as phraseological units used in various situations.
