Organization of administrative statistics in Kazakhstan in the last third of the XIX - early XX centuries

The article discusses the issue of the organization of statistical institutions within the territorial boundaries of Kazakhstan in the last third of the XIX - early XX century. In the course of the study, it was determined that the organization of statistical committees in the national outskirts began much later than in the inner provinces of the empire. On the basis of archival materials, the author analyzes the mechanisms of interaction between regional authorities and the central department - the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The features and specifics of the design of statistical committees in the region are disclosed. The statistical work of administrative structures, significant for the province, is shown, represented by statistical accounting, census of the nomadic and sedentary population, their occupations and life.
