Modality of political Twitter communication

The article presents the results of a study of political Twitter communication. More than 100 Russian and English language political twits have been examined. Based on the works of domestic and foreign scientists, we identified the inherent characteristics of English and Russian-language tweeting modality. According to our findings, political twitting is characterizied by polimodality, namely ideological, emotional, cultural modelities, which are realized by lexical, syntactic and stylistic means of the language.
