Lexical-semantic group "Interpersonal Communication on the Internet" influenced by trends in the development and communicative adaptation of Internet platforms

This article describes the Internet neologism features as being influenced by various commercial Internet platforms due to their universalization of functions. The study is based on the following materials: 1) samples of words denoting various software types (such as chat, forum), and the names of commercial web-platforms, including Facebook, Vkontakte, Telegram, ICQ, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and WhatsApp; 2) Briticism borrowings denoting the realities of Internet communication; 3) word-forming derivation from the indicated bases. The author describes the semantic shifts and modernism mechanisms under the influence of the universalization of platform types and their functions. She compares borrowed and original Russian suffixes of these words. In accordance with specific communicative circumstances, the author defines words that emerge under the influence of semantic shifts and word-forming derivation aiming to reveal the peculiarities of neologism trends within the studied LSG “Interpersonal Communication in the Internet”.
