The history of approach to train interpreters in Europe and America

The article is devoted to the history of the approach about training interpreters in Europe and America. Training talents in Europe and America is evidently characterized by practicality and commercialization. This article shows a cross-section of the history of the interpreting profession in Europe and America, touches on their approach of training interpreters in higher schools of translation and interpreting, reveals the level of development of the labor market of the interpreting profession, and also gives the process of development of the model of training community interpreters. The article discusses the spirit of the European and American approach of training talents through a brief overview of the history and current situation of the goal of education, training programs in translation and interpreting schools. The author draws a conclusion that teaching interpreting in Europe and America pays special attention to the connection of university training with market requirements.
