Specific distinctiveness in the internet slang of modern German youth

The article offers to consider the slang expressions of modern German-speaking youth, as well as their explanations. The concept and meaning of slang in the language system, as well as differences from jargon, are considered. During the work on the article, several main types of abbreviations used in Internet correspondence were identified, as well as the features and areas of use of slang vocabulary of young people.
