Cataphoric ties of the word 'case'

This article discusses the use of the broad meaning noun case in a cataphoric function using examples from the Russian National Corpus. A distinctive feature of this cataphoric marker is its correlation with expanded sentence. The cataphoric ties can be traced at the level of a complex sentence and between sentences. Among the typical constructions are the case is and such case as.
