Abbreviated education as an active word-formation process in the modern Russian language

The purpose of the study is to describe the features of the formation and functioning of abbreviation derivatives in modern Russian as full-fledged lexical units. The scientific novelty of the work is due to insufficient knowledge of modern abbreviated derivatives in the Russian language. As a result, it was shown that the activity of the word-formation process based on abbreviations is mainly due to extralinguistic factors; the graphic and orthoepic appearance of abbreviation derivatives, the way of their formation, the forms of adoption of borrowed abbreviations and their adaptation in modern Russian depend, obviously, on linguistic factors.
