Innovative methods when teaching foreign languages

The article discusses the theoretical foundations and practical applications of innovative methods in foreign language education; lists current trends (e-learning, m-learning, blended learning, MOOCs, “flipped classroom”) and classifies examples of MOOCs for self-study of the Passive Voice in English. The author identifies useful electronic educational resources for practicing pronunciation in a distance learning environment. The conclusion states that it is advisable to develop students’ digital competency in the process of learning a foreign language, taking into account students’ individual needs and compulsory realisation of the discipline’s work programme.
