The problem of school education in the Ruthenian language in the second half of the XIX century

The article deals with the problems of school education in the territory of Austrian Galicia in the second half of the XIX century. The predominance of the Polish language in primary and secondary schools is shown. The activity of individual representatives of the Rusino-Ukrainian socio-political movement for the dissemination of education in the Rusyn language is characterized.
