Wheeled armored vehicles of the Red Army in the Great Patriotic War

Object: to consider the features of the formation of the armored fleet of the Red Army in the field of its provision with armored vehicles of the middle class and their use in severe and dramatic conditions of the initial period of the Great Patriotic War. Methods: comparative-analytical, chronological, statistical. Findings: the specifics of equipping the Soviet troops with armored vehicles in the chronological period under consideration are revealed. Conclusions: objective and subjective conditions prevailing in the initial period of the war, as well as the specifics of the manufacture, maintenance, repair and operation of armored vehicles determined the policy of the Soviet state in the field of their use in the formation of the Red Army fleet.
