Invective in political discourse as a means of persistence

The article examines the function of invective in the political discourse of the media. Persuasiveness is studied as a basic category of political discourse, which has various strategies and tactics, the purpose of which is to achieve a perlocutionary effect in the process of speech influence. Techniques for achieving the effect of persuasiveness, which consists in the choice and combination of verbal and non-verbal techniques, such as: expressives, evaluative vocabulary and phraseology, rhetorical devices, creolization, etc., are considered. A special role in the pragmatics of influence belongs to the category of expressiveness. The expressiveness of political discourse is realized in the ability to reinforce fragments of information to excite the cognitive mechanisms of figurative representation of fragments of discourse. Invectives, which express value judgments in an extreme form and have a high degree of expressiveness, can be used as verbal means in persuasive strategies and tactics of political discourse. The article discusses the role of invective in the persuasiveness of discourse, various means of functioning and formation of invective.
