Playing by ear - playing the piano without staff notation

The ability to play by ear is one of the major goals of learning to play piano for students of any age. The Stimulating method is an auditory method. The main criteria of choosing the musical material for playing by ear is its availability for perception. Recreational practice is enhancing the development of musical memory. Playing by ear develops creativity. The primary skill for the process is having musical ear which is categorized into several groups. Playing by ear is a learning activity that requires certain abilities and skills that allow to play without staff notation. During the practice students conceive rhythm, mode, keys and harmony by ear. The significance of playing by ear is defined by the necessity for a music teacher to create a relevant and interesting accompaniment for a song and improvise an opening to it.
