Russian euphemisms: features of lexicographic fixation

The modern Russian language presents the phenomenon of euphemy in detail and widely, however, there is no systematization of lexicographic representation of euphemisms. In English-language lexicography, euphemisms as an object of research are much more common than in Russian. It is worth mentioning a certain lack of elaboration of the theoretical issues of euphemism and, above all, the fundamental signs of euphemisms in foreign linguistics, which currently actualizes the chosen research topic. The purpose of this work is to clarify the definition of euphemism as a subject of linguistic research and to identify the most frequent features of euphemistic substitutions in modern Russian dictionaries.
