The history of the development of the English language

the article deals with the historical background of the English language development. It highlights the main periods of this process and stresses the reasons for the appearance of the modern English language structure. This article presents facts about the etymology and periodization of English language. Interaction and closely related to English and Scandinavian dialect became the main reason of existing Scandinavian words into current English language, as well as, some phonetic features typical of North England.
