The role of the comissioners of the council for religious affairs under the council of ministers of the USSR in the implementation of the policy of the soviet state concerning religion (the Tatar ASSR case-study)

The article is devoted to the study of the activities of the authorized representatives of the Council for Religious Affairs under the Council of Ministers of the USSR, as representatives of the authority that carried out communication between the Soviet government and religious organizations in the USSR. The authors of the article, based on archival materials on the Tatar ASSR, identified the factors that caused the need for this institution of power, its goals and objectives, structure and functions. Much attention is paid to the principles and methods of work of the representatives of the Council for Religious Affairs under the Council of Ministers of the USSR for the Tatar ASSR at different stages of the history of the Soviet state.
