About etymological sources baby talk in Rutul

The article formulates the results of the analysis of the ways of occurrence of the baby talk in the Rutul language belonging to the Lezgian group of the Nakh-Dagestan languages. Based on the structural and semantic analysis of the factual material, four groups of baby talk characterized by relatively homogeneous etymological origins have been identified: words, the etymology of which follows from the semantics of the original lexemes, from which they are formed by the addition of diminutive affixes; baby talk's words having onomatopoeic nature; words with obscured etymology, restored by methods of internal and external reconstruction; a group of baby talk's words, the etymology of which is not restored by modern linguistic methods.
