The article is devoted to the main problems that arise among students of the advanced level of RCT when studying prefixal verbs in a figurative sense. It offers a number of preparatory exercises dedicated to the prefixal verb in the direct meaning. Then attention is paid to exercises dedicated to the development of lexical and grammatical skills related to the use of verbs in a figurative sense.
