To the question of property of closed churches of Vladimir town in 1928

This article reveals a very topical topic of studying the property of churches in the provincial city of Vladimir, its use and distribution during the period of aggravation of state-church relations in the USSR in the second half of the 1920s. Using sources from the funds of the State Archives of the Vladimir Region, the author shows what church property was inspected by a commission of representatives of local authorities. The study provides a detailed description of the entire complex of church property of four closed places of worship, including icons, church utensils, spiritual books, and so on. An important issue is the seizure and further sale of the bells removed from the churches and their possible transfer as museum property.
