The process of improving the professional activity of the teacher in modern school: a competence approach

The article presents various approaches to understanding the essence of professional competence of a teacher and determines that the process of improving the professional activity of a teacher is a process of development, growth and implementation of professionally significant personal traits, abilities, knowledge and skills in pedagogical activity, taking into account the professional competencies of a teacher operating at the present stage of education development. The author, based on the analysis of the literature, shows that the improvement of the professional activity of a teacher is a directed systematic development of competencies for the formation of research, productive and personal components.
