The article is devoted to the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) at a crucial period in the history of Russia, when the question of the very existence of the monarchy and the Russian state was more acute than ever. The Orthodox Church as the ideological core of the Russian Empire was the bond that ensured the internal cohesion of the Russian people was a moral authority in their eyes. From the first days of the war, the ROC did not hesitate to engage in patriotic activities aimed at ensuring victory for the Russian army. Her activity in this field was dictated by love for the Fatherland and the desire to help ordinary Russian people, Orthodox Christians, endure all the hardships of the terrible war.
