Differences of the Original and the Translation of Fiction Text (based on J. London’s short-story “Winged Blackmail” in English and Russian)

The article presents the differences in the original text of Jack London’s short-story “Winged Blackmail” in English and its translation, performed by K.I. Telyatnikov in Russian. The paper attempts to show how the perception of people from different countries and the structure of each language differ. In the process of the research of the material, the following tasks were set and solved: 1) to find nouns in the text of the translation of the fiction work; 2) to make a table showing the quantitative and percentage indicators of the selected examples of nouns by groups; 3) to identify phraseological units, proverbs in English and to find the analog in the text of the translated work in Russian; 4) to find the main differences related to grammar and parts of speech. The relevance of the research is in the fact that the study of fiction texts is promising in terms of obtaining lexical and semantic results for the science.
