Strategies of conflict verbal behavior (based on Anthony Burgess's novels)

The article is devoted to the description confrontational and neutral and strategies of speech behavior of communicants on an example of Anthony Burgess` novels. The research aims to identify the features of this verbal confrontation, which is expressed in the lack of desire of the addressee to cooperation. The speech tactics are considered by the author as a linguistic category, constructing speech portrait of literary hero. Destructive discourse of the verbal conflict in the texts of dialogic formats of communication, according to the author’s opinion, plays a key role in presenting speech behavior strategies, using specific verbal forms and varying degrees of cooperation. Scientific originality of the research lies in the study of the verbal aggression of the characters in the works of Anthony Burgess, which makes up their speech portrait. As a result, it has been proved that a person, manifested in the process of conflict discourse, implements conflict speech strategies and tactics, which helps its to dominate the interlocutor.
