Reflection of the national worldvuew in German phraseological units

At the end of the twentieth century, linguists’ interest in phraseological semantics, the interaction of linguistic and extralinguistic factors in the structure of phraseological meaning, the specific features of national perception by set-expressions as cultural phenomena increased. This article is dedicated to the phraseological units of the German language reflecting thе national world view of the German ethnos. Analysing the extralinguistic factors the author of the article identifies the most significant groups of the German phraseological units in national and cultural terms and examines the stable expressions from the standpoint of national mentality.
