Functions of television headlines

This article discusses the nominative and advertising functions of television headlines. The trend of using new words in the headlines of television programs, which reflects updates not only in the state of society, but also in the state of consciousness and thinking of a person. The nominative function is a common and basic function for all television broadcast titles, since the primary initial purpose of the title is the nomination, the identification of the work, which makes it possible to separate one television broadcast from another. Headings, which are typical nouns, belong to proper names (at the same time, common nouns in the role of headings pass into the category of proper names in their function). In relation to the television headline, the essence of advertising (advertising function) is to attract the attention of viewers to the television program. However, each author, when creating a headline, aims not only to interest, but also, by influencing in a certain way, to force viewers to watch this program. The advertising function of the title is one of the important factors in the development of television speech.
