Land ownership and disposal of the property of the nobility of the Smolensk province at the end of the 18th - the first half of the 19th centuries

Purpose: the purpose of this study is to analyze the basics of land ownership and disposal of the property of the nobility of the Smolensk province at the end of the XVIII - first half of the XIX centuries. Methods: the article reveals the methods of system analysis and critical understanding of the foundations of land ownership and disposal of the property of the nobility of Smolensk province at the end of the XVIII - first half of the XIX centuries. Results: the relationship between representatives of privileged estates is analyzed. The situation of the nobility in the Smolensk province is considered. It is indicated what is the position of the nobility in matters of property and land use. Conclusions: in this article, the author examines the process of formation of estates, as well as the position of privileged strata in society. Such estates as nobility, philistinism and merchants are distinguished. The issue of the land and property status of the nobility, as well as the legal basis for the privileged estate, is considered.
