Operations with real estate in urban public banks of the Russian Empire in the second half of the XIX-beginning of the XX centyries (based on the materials of the Moscow province)

The article considers the features of the activities of urban public banks in the field of real estate transactions. The characteristic of the pledged property, and options for its valuation by the bank are presented. The terms of granting loans depending on the type of pledged property are considered. The assessment of bank borrowers according to the class and gender principle is given. The basis for this study was the documentation of urban public banks of the Moscow province and the legislative acts of the Russian Empire. In the final part, lending through the issuance of solo-bills is analyzed.
