Semasiology and its composition by M.V. Nikitin

This article is devoted to the study of semasiology and its composition. We appeal to the opinion of M.V. Nikitin, as one of the leading scientists on the issue of semasiological teaching. As part of the implementation of our goals, the object of the article is semasiology as a science, its structure. We consider this object through the prism of the chosen subject - the work of M.V. Nikitin "Fundamentals of the linguistic theory of meaning" in 1988. The purpose is to trace the chronology of the formation of semasiology as a science, to understand in detail the structure of semasiology and determine its place among other linguistic directions, to understand what it is, what it explores, how it differs from semiotics; to compile a brief instruction with key definitions and classifications according to M.V. Nikitin, in the form of a reference book with the main theses of the author's work. To achieve these goals, the objectives of the article are reduced to the analysis of terminology, the definition of the conceptual apparatus, the identification of relevant research areas within the framework of semasiology. In the course of the research, we used the following methods and methodology: descriptive and taxonomic methods, analysis (compositional, distributive), synthesis, analytical generalization, classification, content analysis. The results of the work are: identification of the difference between semasiology and semiotics; a brief description of the main terms introduced or mentioned by M.V. Nikitin is obtained; classifications of organizational structures within the framework of semasiological teaching are listed. Scope of application of the results: the received instruction is intended for philology students, undergraduates and postgraduates of the philological direction as a guide when familiarizing themselves with the field of semasiology. In the course of the work, we described the chronology of the development and formation of semasiology, which will help young specialists, students, and novice scientists to get brief information on the stages of the formation of semasiology and get acquainted with the scientists involved in the development of this area of knowledge.
