The article presents an analysis of the conceptual metaphor in the media coverage of education after the pandemic of COVID-19 in English newspaper articles headlines. The application of the conceptual metaphor theory of G. Lakoff and M. Johnson in the headline analysis structures metaphorical concepts and identifies the metaphors of the path, the movement, and the conflict as the main ways to conceptualize the post-pandemic education. The analysis has shown that a headline may contain a few basic conceptual metaphors. The evaluation of the consequences of the empirical evidence and the expression of feelings stemming from the empirical evidence have been identified as other functions of conceptual metaphors.
