Proper names in W. Shakespeare's drama “Romeo and Juliet” within the vertical context

This article examines the role of vertical context in W. Shakespeare's drama "Romeo and Juliet". The vertical context seems to be one of the key aspects important for understanding the essence of the work. W. Shakespeare used a very common plot and, nevertheless, his play became very popular. A number of researchers believe that the matter is far from the plot. The lovers' story hides a historical context that allows us to understand what Shakespeare really meant when he wrote his works, and why it became popular.
