On the problem of the native language idiomatics perception by modern teenagers

The purpose of the study is to identify the peculiarities of the perception and acquisition of the native language idiomatics by schoolchildren aged 12 to 18. The article discusses the stages of the speech ability formation in children and describes the main characteristics of the adolescents’ speech. The scientific novelty lies in the development of a psycholinguistic battery of tests for a comprehensive study of the idiomatics perception at the adolescent stage of speech development. The experiment proves the presence of difficulties and distinctive features in the development and use of idiomatics in speech at this stage of the speech ontogenesis.
